Triple R Inc. donates its time and resources to help a 5 year old girl with costly home modifications

QuickContractors and the Ontario March of Dimes Break the news to Family Selection for the

Accessible Home Makeover

Of the 180 applicants from the Tricities and Guelph areas, the McQuinn Family was the recipient of a Barrier Free Home Makeover. At three years of age, Amanda McQuinn was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Doctors were able to remove over 95% of the tumor but due to a stroke during surgery, Amanda was left paralyzed on the left side of her body. Now five years old, Amanda is able to walk with the aid of her walker. Unfortunately, the doorways at the McQuinn residence do not accommodate to the width of the walker and Amanda is forced to crawl in order to access the entire house. With the expense and time consumed caring for Amanda, The McQuinn family is unable to afford the costly modifications needed to make their home accessible for Amanda.

Through a synergy between the Ontario March of Dimes, QuickContractors.com Inc and Cambridge Insurance Brokers Ltd. and with the help of QC Contractors Triple R Inc. and CNS Renovations, The McQuinn family is able to receive the help they need. The project is the culmination of the commitment of community members who feel we should all assist people with physical disabilities to maximize their independence, personal empowerment, and community participation.
